FileZilla Password Recovery
Posted in IT | By tarotoast |
I’ve accidentally lost (I doubt, it’s gonna come out again since I don’t need it anymore) an important sheet of paper with password printed on it. Luckily I have my password to that server saved in my FileZilla FTP Client. I did a export settign in FileZilla FTP Client (gives you a Filezilla.xml) and realize the saved sessions (with username/passwords) are exported as well. However the password is not in plain text. A google search brought me to this page. By pasting the password found in the export (Filezilla.xml) , the program spits out the plain text password back to me, and now everything is happy. This time, I make sure keeping the password at a safe location where it won’t disappear again.
