Interesting question. It turns out that the Sodium Lauryl Sulphate CH3(CH2)11OSO3Na (MSDS) is the cause. According to the article, the chemical surpresses sweet sensors in tastebuds from functioning, therefore leaving sour and bitter being elaborated.
